Christina holding Joey as he is showing us his best pout!! Not something you normally see. He must have wanted to stay at the hotel pool watching the "hot babes" a little longer.

His original Physical Therapist, Kendra Elmore, is now working at Children's Hospital in Dallas, TX. She came up to visit Joey, her boyfriend, and brought him the cowboy hat.

A GOLDEN STAR DAY!!! Kendra (Joey's Physical Therapist from Children's Hospital who had been
working with him for the most part of 11 months) is shadowing Joey as he walks by himself down the hallway.

Family & friends were sitting in my living room talking. We had gotten together to celebrate Sandy's mom's (NanNan) 75th Birthday. Joey gave my mom a present she will never forget. None of us will forget!

Joey stood up and walked 25 steps across the room by himself. Eleven months to the day that he had the hemispherectomy. Our mouths fell to the floor. He could not have picked a better time to do this. Unfortunately all of us were so dumbfounded that we didn't take pictures of his actual 1st walk. You could say that Joey rewarded Kendra & her endless hours of singing while she was manipulating him & his muscles ... with a very handsome, WALKING, talking, smiling trophy!!! : )

Kendra put Andrea & Christina to work. Kendra & Andrea hold toys that Joey wants, while Christina stabilizes him on his feet and rolls herself to keep up with him while he walks. August 2000

Our neighbors had a welcome home block party for Joey. He had lots of fun. These are April's specially decorated cupcakes. What a GREAT idea!
